How do I apply to become a Super Representative candidate?
See the SR candidate application guide.
How do I update an SR’s brokerage rate?
You can update the brokerage rate—the percentage of rewards retained by the SR—on TRONSCAN’s Super Representatives page or through the updateBrokerage API.
How do I update an SR’s official website URL?
Use the updatewitness API to update the SR’s official website URL.
Why the ranking has not changed after a successful vote
A successful vote transaction means your new vote allocation has been recorded in your on-chain account state. The official SR and SR Partner rankings are recalculated at the next scheduled maintenance update. First confirm that the transaction succeeded, then check the maintenance countdown on the Votes page.
Why holding TRX is not enough to vote
TRX in your available balance cannot be used directly for voting. First stake TRX through Stake 2.0 to get TP, then use that TP to vote. Under the current Mainnet resource model, staking 1 TRX gives you 1 TP.
How unstaking affects existing votes
The corresponding TP is reclaimed as soon as the unstaking transaction is confirmed on-chain. Unused TP is reclaimed first. Only if that is insufficient are existing votes reduced in proportion to the previous allocation. Unstaking does not necessarily cancel all your votes. The current 14-day Mainnet waiting period applies to withdrawing the unstaked TRX. After the period ends, complete a withdrawal transaction to move the TRX into your available balance.
How canceling unstaking affects existing votes
Once a transaction canceling pending unstaking is confirmed, the TRX is restaked and the corresponding resources and TP are restored. Previously revoked votes are not restored automatically. Votes that were not revoked remain in place. To restore your previous allocation, submit a new vote transaction with the complete allocation, including every candidate and vote count you want to retain.
Candidate limits and repeat voting
Each vote transaction supports up to 30 vote allocations. Every submission replaces your entire previous allocation; it does not add to the earlier votes. Include any candidates you want to keep voting for in the new submission.
TRX costs for voting
Voting does not transfer or burn your staked TRX. The voting transaction itself has no protocol fee, but it consumes Bandwidth. If your account does not have enough Bandwidth, the network may burn a small amount of TRX to cover the resource cost.
How the candidate tiers differ
The top 27 candidates are active SRs and take turns producing blocks. Candidates ranked 28 to 127 are SR Partners: they do not produce blocks, but they qualify for voting rewards. Candidates ranked 128th or below remain registered and can continue receiving votes, but they are not currently eligible for protocol rewards. These roles change with the rankings at each maintenance update.
When votes begin earning rewards
Rewards are calculated using maintenance-cycle snapshots. New votes and vote changes generally affect reward allocations from the next maintenance cycle. Actual rewards also depend on the candidate's rank, total votes, block production performance, Brokerage, and the network's reward parameters.
Delegating voting power and resources
TP cannot be delegated. Voting power stays with the account that staked the TRX. Bandwidth or Energy obtained through staking can be delegated to another account when the protocol's requirements are met.
Claiming rewards and existing votes
Claiming rewards moves unclaimed rewards into your available balance without changing your current vote allocation. A reward claim transaction can be executed at most once every 24 hours.
